    VIDEOKANAVA // RESOLUTION / KUMOUS

    video art festival | Tampere

    2018

When the prevailing reality can no longer be excluded from the consciousness and when being passive is no longer an option, collective energy embodies a mass response that is directed towards action. Moment invites resistance and motion gathers movement. But can collective consciousness manufacture alliances? How can we redeem misplaced historical narratives? Can history speak for the present? Can it argue, quarrel, debate? Can it forgive?

The exhibition, Resolution/Kumous scopes themes of revolution, civic activism and change through the selection of four curators. Screenings are arranged in many cultural places in Tampere: at Tampere's Cultural Center Laikku, Tampere Art Museum’s yards, at the Contemporary Art Center Hirvitalo in Pispala and in Vastavirta-Klubi in Tampere.
